SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Come be a part of the team that is helping NASA make a historic return to the moon and beyond. Working with NASA to build the most powerful rocket, Space Launch System, will enable astronauts to go beyond the moon and to distances and destinations that were previously unobtainable. At MTS, we are supporting NASA as we work together to break barriers to achieve the seemingly impossible.

The candidate will support NASA under the Marshall Integrated Program Support Services (MIPSS) Contract, and will support various projects at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Specific duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Developing, maintaining, and coordinating technical schedules for large to medium scale projects from proposal level to detailed level schedules
  • Conducting schedule analysis and assessments to ensure schedules are structured properly with complete network logic, are capable of reporting critical path(s), and follow industry scheduling best practices
  • Tracking schedule progress and developing custom reports/metrics
  • Providing guidance and recommendations on schedule work-arounds and recovery plans for customers to make effective decisions
  • Attending key project meetings, reviews, and presenting schedule status/metrics
REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. degree from an accredited institution and 5-15 years of experience. A Master’s Degree can be substituted for work experience.

Prior Aerospace or Government project experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office products; experience with Milestones Professional desirable.

Hands-on experience developing detailed schedules, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and performing critical path analysis.

Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and work under minimal supervision.

Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels of an organization.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Essential Functions:

Work Environment - Generally an office environment.

Physical Requirements - Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 10lbs (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (computer, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance - Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

Other Essential Functions - Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position. Must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
